Combined Heat Compute (CHC) Way Forward Towards A Sustainable Data Centre?

Carbon-Neutral Data Centers are on top of everyone's minds as our 2030 climate goals are coming closer. The European Union has already published an agenda, the green deal initiative, setting the clear target of data centers to become emission-free at the same time. Many unsolved challenges still remain, especially on heat recovery. The buzz word is combined heat compute, It is not the only one but an important building block for data centre sites to become carbon neutral. Because by using waste heat produced in data centres, the achievement of the climate targets can be accelerated significantly. There are numerous innovative solutions to enable data centre operators to recover and repurpose surplus heat. These include, for example, utilising residual heat on site; recovering surplus heat to provide energy for subsequent cooling cycles, or diverting it into a district heat system.
